New Recipes

Anyone who knows me, knows that I like to bake. I am more likely to make Chocolate Chip cookies for someone and snag a few for my dinner than to make a wholesome meal. I understand this has to change. I brought a couple of my cookbooks to work today to pick out some new recipes. And, par for the course, the first recipe I picked out was from "The Simple LIttle Vegan Slow Cooker". I use the chili recipe out of this book all the time, and now it's time to branch out. So, this weekend I will be doing the Corn Lentel Soup. It seems perfect in the cold weather to do a soup. So, at least one meal this weekend will not be cookies. I will report back on this and other recipes I dive into. I have company coming this weekend which is my inspiration to branch out away from all junk food all the time.

What would this vegan do?

Good question. This vegan decided to start a blog. I want to blog about everything vegan and for you to send me things to post here.

Let's start with the holidays. I find that being vegan is not always easy this time of year. I haven't gone to the mall in quite some time but I remember there being the meat/dairy business set up to sell you some prepackaged death and samples are readily available. You also have the holiday parties and the wondering, should I eat before I go? Should I bring something vegan?

For me, this year, 2009 is the first year that I have had completely vegan holidays. I have only had vegan food on the table (this is because I chose to share the holidays with fellow vegans and not my immediate family), vegan love in the air, and I could eat everything that was available. It was beautiful.

Tell me your Vegan holiday experiences.
